What is counted
An incident is counted when a state military or an allied force (the Myanmar military and the Shanni Nationalities Army; the Ethiopian National Defence Force; the Nigerian Army and Air Force) strikes a church, monastery, church institution or church-run aid, clergy, or a community or worshippers that sources explicitly identify as Christian.
General strikes in Christian-majority areas, such as drone strikes on displacement camps and schools in Tigray, are not counted unless a source links them to a church, clergy or Christian community. Attacks by non-state groups are outside this tracker.
Evidence tiers
Verified means at least two independent credible sources, or one primary source, support the event. Reported means a credible account exists, but independent corroboration has not been established. Republished versions of one account count as one source.
Verification confirms that the event occurred. It does not establish motive. Unknown casualties are recorded as not reported, never as zero.
Locations and sources
Semema is plotted at coordinates published by the reporting analyst. Mindat and Mehal Meda are town centers. Other sites are approximate area placements (dashed rings). Event dates are kept separate from reporting dates.
